Manchester United will have to fork out £50 million for the services of 25-year-old Inter Milan defender Federico Dimarco.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Manchester United are interested in acquiring the services of Federico Dimarco. The 25-year-old defender has been on fire over the past 18 months and he is on the radar of some of the biggest clubs in Europe.

Dimarco has been a part of Inter Milan since his childhood days. He came up the ranks at the club and made it to their first team back in the summer of 2015. The full-back was promoted to their first team quite early in his career but he didn’t really have much game time.

He was sent out on multiple loan moves before being sold to FC Sion in the summer of 2017. Just a year later he returned back to the Italian club but still couldn’t find a place in the first team. Things started to click for him at Inter Milan after his loan spell at Hellas Verona which ended in the summer of 2021.

At this point in time, Dimarco is a very important part of their first team. Last season he was involved in a total of 50 matches and even managed to bag 16 goal contributions. The 25-year-old was on another level and he has carried his form into the new season with four goal contributions in seven league outings.

His impressive performances haven’t gone unnoticed and Manchester United are one of the clubs interested in acquiring his services. The Red Devils have struggled in the ongoing season because of defensive injuries. Their main centre-backs as well as left-back have picked up injuries. As a result, Erik ten Hag is desperate to sign a new defender in the winter transfer window.

The Dutch manager is a huge admirer of Italian international and would love to have him in his ranks. His arrival will give him a quality left-back option and the 25-year-old can even feature in the heart of the defence when needed.

Dimarco could be a great fit for the English club but it won’t be easy to land him at the club. Inter will try their best to keep him at the club. According to the report, they would look to tie him down to a new deal that will increase his wages from £3 million to £5 million. But, there is frustration growing from the player’s side as he last received an extension back in 2021.

While the player has no intentions of parting ways with his childhood club, he will surely listen to the offers from Manchester United. But, with his current deal running until the summer of 2026, Inter Milan are in the driving seat and they won’t let him leave for less than £50 million
