Aston Villa have suffered a blow in their pursuit of 20-year-old Norwich City attacking sensation Jonathan Rowe.

According to a report by Football Insider, Aston Villa are keen on having Jonathan Rowe in their ranks. They were looking to sign the Norwich City prospect in the winter transfer window. But it seems they will have to wait until the end of the ongoing season.

The 20-year-old Norwich winger has been in sensational form of late, and his performances have attracted a lot of attention. Rowe has been a part of Norwich City’s youth academy since his childhood days. He has come up the ranks at the club and managed to break into their first team in the winter of 2022.

The England youth international has gone from strength to strength since getting promoted to their first team. And, he has been on fire in the ongoing season. The 20-year-old has featured in 13 outings and has managed to contribute towards nine goals.

His exceptional performances earned him a spot in the England Under-21 squad last week. He has already showcased his class at the Under-21 level and even managed to bag a goal in his first outing.

Rowe’s sensational performances have not gone unnoticed, and Aston Villa are one of the clubs keen on having him in their ranks. Villa have done exceptional transfer business in the recent past. They have built a strong squad under the guidance of Unai Emery and are looking to add more firepower in the winter.

The Villans have their eyes on Rowe and want to sign him in the winter window. But, Norwich won’t listen to any offers in January. They are pushing for promotion back to the Premier League after getting relegated a few seasons back. And, the club feels Rowe will have a huge say on where they end up in the Championship. As a result, they have no intention of letting him leave.

However, if Norwich City fail to gain promotion to the English top flight this season, quite a few top clubs will knock on the door for the 20-year-old who is regarded as a huge prospect for the future. And, with his contract expiring in the summer of 2025, they might have to offload him in the summer.
