West Ham United are ready to make a €20 million bid for AC Milan star Malick Thiaw, who continues to grow in prominence under Stefano Pioli.

According to Calcio Mercato, West Ham United are keen to sign Malick Thiaw from AC Milan in the future windows. The Hammers are reportedly prepared to bid €20 million for the Serie A defender, who has become an important part of Stefano Pioli’s plans.

AC Milan are steadily becoming a hub for young players who are keen to develop their skills and become future stars. The Rossoneri have recently shown their hiring skills by signing some of the top-rated talents. Stefano Pioli continues to build a stellar project.

The big factor at the San Siro is the time afforded to these players to make a mark. One glaring example is that of Malick Thiaw. Despite making 20 appearances for Milan in Serie A last season, he could not convince Pioli of his talents.

Yet, the manager kept faith in the Serie A defender, and the 22-year-old has cemented his place as a mainstay in the squad since. He has played in nine games this season and continues to thrive in a central partnership with Fikayo Tomori.

Real Madrid have already shown an interest, while others are keeping close track of his situation. As things stand, Milan appears happy with the player’s performances and remains protected with a contract until 2027.

Milan are working on handing the 22-year-old a new contract that would triple his €800,000 salary and increase his deal until 2028. The Serie A defender remains under no illusion of a big move elsewhere and wants to continue his career at the San Siro for at least two more years.

Yet, West Ham are keen on the defender and ready to make a €20 million bid to test Milan’s resolve. The Rossoneri would certainly make a great profit on their investment, but believe the player is growing in importance in this squad.

West Ham are in the market for a new centre-back and could even return for Harry Maguire in January. David Moyes got his transfer decisions right during the summer and would want to explore ideas of bringing in players of a younger profile.

Thiaw has the talent to succeed in the Premier League with the right coaching. West Ham are open to presenting an opportunity, but for the time being, Milan will reject all overtures in a bid to sell him for a bigger fee in the future.
