Arsenal, Chelsea, Real Madrid keen on Dani Olmo

Arsenal offer €47 million to sign Chelsea target Riccardo Calafiori, told to pay more.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Real Madrid are attentive towards Dani Olmo’s situation, with the attacking midfielder thinking about leaving RB Leipzig.

According to Mundo Deportivo via Sport Witness, a host of top clubs are interested in exploring a move for Dani Olmo. Arsenal, Chelsea and Real Madrid could rival Barcelona for the €60 million-rated target, with the 25-year-old thinking about departing RB Leipzig.

The summer window brought plenty of surprises along the way, not only with transfers but also with some big stars staying put at their respective clubs. Dani Olmo certainly is part of the latter as he not only chose to remain at RB Leipzig but also signed a new deal.

The attacking midfielder had plenty of suitors, including interest from Manchester City, who wanted a new player of his quality. However, his €60 million release clause makes it straightforward for any interested clubs to make a future move.

While some may think signing him by paying a release clause will prove easy, Leipzig may not have plans to sell him in the January window. The Bundesliga side could remain open to a summer transfer and convince Olmo to stay put until then.

For Leipzig, keeping their top stars like Olmo and Lois Openda in January seems imperative as they are fighting to finish within the Champions League places this season. When they do decide to sell him for what he’s worth, the €60 million-rated Barcelona target will have plenty of suitors other than the Catalans.

Barcelona are interested in a summer 2024 move for Olmo and could finally make a concerted approach for their long-time target. Xavi Hernandez likes the 25-year-old for his system and may urge the club to spend on signing him.

However, Barcelona’s well-documented financial troubles may prevent them from paying the €60 million needed to sign Olmo. That factor alone gives Premier League sides like Arsenal and Chelsea a boost in their quest to beat the Catalans in the race.

Mikel Arteta likes the player’s profile and would like to have him at Arsenal. The transfer fee may not seem important for the Gunners, considering they will sign a top-notch star in return. However, with the presence of Martin Odegaard and Fabio Vieira, the north Londoners may not particularly require a new attacking midfielder.

Similarly, Chelsea will not face any problems coming up with the cash for Olmo. Signing him might undermine their recent investment in Cole Palmer, as Olmo would surely push him down the pecking order. Moreover, the 25-year-old is on the border of their transfer policy, which reportedly states the Blues would only sign players aged 25 or under.

Finally, there’s Real Madrid, who are attentive to Olmo’s situation. They could have signed the attacking midfielder during the summer if they held serious interest. With the team already brimming with quality, there are doubts whether the 25-year-old would want to sign them, considering his history with Barcelona.
