La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid are reportedly keeping tabs on the progress of 20-year-old South American forward Luciano Rodriguez.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Luciano Rodriguez is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. The Spanish giants constantly scour the market for promising young prospects in South America. And the 20-year-old Liverpool FC Montevideo forward has emerged on their radar.

Luciano Rodriguez Rosales, better known as Luciano Rodriguez, is one of the best young prospects in South America. The Uruguayan forward represented CA Bella Vista and CA Progresso during his youth career before breaking into the latter’s first team. But he has risen to prominence since joining Liverpool FC Montevideo earlier this year.

The 20-year-old is a centre-forward by trade but has yet to become a prolific performer in the final third. Rodriguez has a sub-par tally of three goals and three assists in 21 appearances thus far for Liverpool FC Montevideo. But despite not being too productive, the youngster’s progress has captured the attention of Real Madrid.

The Merengues are renowned for constantly scouring the market for promising young prospects. They have built their recent success on the foundations of signing teenage sensations who have become pivotal figures. Vinicius Junior, Federico Valverde, and Rodrygo Goes have been three success stories at Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, Endrick will arrive from Palmeiras in the 2024 summer transfer window. But the Spanish giants are not resting on their laurels and continue foraying into the South American market. Luciano Rodriguez has thus emerged as a viable target for Real Madrid.

Recent reports have linked Real Madrid with other strikers like Serhou Guirassy. Meanwhile, the Spanish giants remain active in the South American market, with several youngsters emerging on their radar, including Gianluca Prestianni. As for Rodriguez, the 20-year-old will likely start as a backup option in the Real Madrid first team.

Alternatively, the 20-year-old South American forward might join Real Madrid Castilla to learn the ropes before becoming a first-team regular. Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see if Luciano Rodriguez arrives at the Santiago Bernabeu anytime soon.
