Arsenal are keen on adding a new attacker and are keeping tabs on Jarrod Bowen, but his new contract makes things complicated.
According to Fichajes, Arsenal have placed Jarrod Bowen as part of their shortlist as Mikel Arteta targets a new attacker in January. The Gunners are reportedly linked with many other names. If they want the West Ham star, then things could get complicated owing to his recent contract renewal.
Arsenal are keen to bolster their attacking setup after a modest start on the front line. Not that the Gunners have been bad with their performances, but they are certainly missing the fire up front they showed in the last campaign.
More importantly, Mikel Arteta wants to add options that are ready-made in the Premier League and come in straight away to improve Arsenal. There are very few players of that calibre, as the Gunners boss may feel to add some directness in the front three. Hence, the report suggests Bowen is a €70 million target.
Kai Havertz arrived, but so far, he has played a different role than during his time at Chelsea and Bayer Leverkusen. Arteta would like a wide man on his side who could cover and compete with Bukayo Saka, with Jarrod Bowen emerging as a target ahead of the January window.

The big problem with that interest is the fact that Bowen signed a new long-term deal until 2030 with the Hammers on Sunday. Hence, if Arsenal want him, they must pay an unprecedented amount of money to prise the 26-year-old Premier League attacker.
Liverpool have also been tracking Bowen as Jurgen Klopp might consider the 26-year-old Premier League attacker as a direct replacement for Mohamed Salah. But the new deal negates all the interest in the attacker, as he will remain with the Hammers for the foreseeable future.
Arsenal are also interested in Pedro Neto ahead of January, with the Wolves star open to a move as he considers himself a fan of the club. There were also links to Ivan Toney, but in truth, Arteta might target a new wide attacker rather than a central striker.
Bowen would have been fantastic for the Gunner. But he now appears unachievable for any of his suitors unless they are willing to pay ridiculous money, well above the €70 million mentioned in the report. Neto might prove a good idea, but one way or another, Arsenal are adamant about signing a new attacker.
