Real Madrid will have to fork out €50 million to acquire the services of 22-year-old Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez.

According to a report by Fichajes, Real Madrid are interested in the services of Santiago Gimenez. The 22-year-old striker has been in sensational form over the past 12 months and he is on the radar of some of the biggest clubs in world football.

Gimenez came through the ranks at CD Cruz Azul before joining Feyenoord in the summer of 2022. The Mexican international had an exceptional debut season for the Dutch club as he featured in 52 matches and ended up contributing towards 31 goals. His 15 league goals played a big part in helping his club win the Eredivisie.

The 22-year-old has carried his red-hot form into the new season and has already scored 10 goals. He has featured in seven league games and has 12 goal contributions to his name. His exceptional performances over the past 12 months haven’t gone unnoticed and there are quite a few clubs ready to go all out for his services.

While his contract with the Dutch club runs until the summer of 2027, there is a real possibility of him parting ways with Feyenoord next summer. Real Madrid are one of the clubs that have been keeping a close eye on the 22-year-old.

Los Blancos haven’t replaced Karim Benzema yet and they are in desperate need of a quality number nine who can guarantee them goals. And, Gimenez seems to be a perfect fit for the club.

According to the report, the Dutch club will only let the former Cruz Azul striker leave for a fee of €50 million. While the team in white are keen on having him in their ranks and can surely afford that kind of fee, they are not alone in the race. Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham are looking to bolster their attack for different reasons.

The Blues have been playing good football but the results haven’t gone their way because they haven’t scored enough goals. They need a reliable source of goals and given the Mexcian international’s recent form, he can surely do wonders for them.

Meanwhile, Spurs haven’t replaced Harry Kane yet. They might be doing great without the England international, they do need a new number nine in the long run and are thinking about making a move for Gimenez.

Arsenal do have two quality forwards in their ranks but they don’t seem to be good enough to guide them to a major title. As a result, Mikel Arteta is considering signing a new forward and the 22-year-old is one of their targets.
