Real Madrid will soon present a significant bid to sign 25-year-old Italian international Federico Dimarco, valued at €70 million by Inter Milan.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Federico Dimarco is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. The Merengues are scouring the market for a left-back heading into the 2024 summer transfer window. Meanwhile, the Inter Milan defender has a price tag of €70 million, which Los Blancos will be willing to match.

Federico Dimarco has finally found a stable foothold at Inter Milan in the last two seasons. A graduate of the Serie A outfit’s youth division, the Italian international had to bide his time at the club, embarking on multiple loan spells. He even spent a season at FC Sion, who signed him on a permanent deal in July 2017.

Meanwhile, the 25-year-old has started the 2023/24 season well, managing one goal and three assists in seven appearances thus far. But Dimarco’s progress might also bring bad news for Inter Milan, with several high-profile clubs interested in him. Real Madrid will be one of his prospective suitors next year.

Reports in the summer transfer window also linked the player with Premier League clubs like Newcastle United and Manchester United. But Real Madrid’s emergence in the race to secure Dimarco’s services changes the equation considerably.

Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly driving Real Madrid’s interest in the Italian international. The Real Madrid boss is a keen admirer of Dimarco’s qualities. So, with Ferland Mendy facing an uncertain future at the Santiago Bernabeu, the versatile Inter Milan defender has emerged as a viable target for Los Blancos.

The 25-year-old can play as a left-back and a centre-back, making him an attractive prospect for his suitors. Inter Milan’s asking price of €70 million does not faze Real Madrid, either, with the report claiming the Merengues are ready to match the valuation to land the player in the 2024 summer transfer window.

Widespread reports have suggested that Alphonso Davies will be Real Madrid’s priority target next year. But Bayern Munich will fight hard to retain the Canadian international’s services. So, Dimarco might be the next best option to bolster the Real Madrid squad in 2024. But there might be some complications while pursuing him, as he is content at Inter Milan.
