Manchester United and Newcastle United are ready to go all in for Valencia star Javi Guerra

According to Fichajes, Premier League side Manchester United and Newcastle United are ready to make their move for Valencia star Javi Guerra.

The 20-year-old is one of the best players to come out of the Spanish club in recent years. He in fact came through the system at Villarreal before moving to the Mestalla in 2019.

Guerra initially spent time with the B team before making his first-team bow for Los Che in 2023. He has since made 17 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring four times and assisting one more.

A defensive midfielder, the young Spaniard has a keen eye for goal and is a reliable threat going forward. This ability to make an impact at either end of the pitch makes him an in-demand player.

Guerra is a solid tackler with an excellent understanding of the game. This game intelligence makes him good at intercepting the ball and kickstarting counterattacks, something Newcastle can do with their style.

The Magpies have invested smartly in recent times and brought in Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali. Both players are key first-XI stars and could do with a reliable third partner in the middle of the park.

While Joelinton is an athletic presence in the central midfield, he lacks the technical nous needed to progress the ball. Guerra is an upgrade in the category and will add a new dimension to Eddie Howe’s roster.

Manchester United and Newcastle continue to keep close tabs on Guerra whose contract with Valencia runs until 2027. The 20-year-old is also privy to a rather significant €100 million release clause. Both these factors hand the La Liga side a strong hand when it comes to negotiations.

Valencia are not the giants they once were and have regressed much under Petr Lim’s guidance. The Los Che owner could be tempted to sell should a mammoth fee arrive.

Newcastle, now blessed with UEFA Champions League football can afford to splurge on the right player. Guerra certainly appears to be a solid addition who can not just improve at St James Park but also form a formidable trio alongside Guimaraes and Tonali.
