La Liga club Villarreal are hoping to sign Donny van de Beek from Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

A report from Fichajes claims that Manchester United are willing to let go of Donny van de Beek in the coming months. And La Liga club Villarreal are now plotting a move for the struggling midfielder in 2024.

Signing the Dutch midfielder could prove to be a wise decision for the Spanish outfit, and he will add goals and creativity to the side. The 26-year-old has had a tough time since joining Manchester United in a €39 million deal. And he has not been able to hold down a regular starting spot in recent seasons.

The Dutchman needs to leave Manchester United to get his career back on track and a move to La Liga could be ideal for him. There is no doubt that the 26-year-old has the technical attributes to thrive in Spanish football, and regular football at Villarreal could help him regain his form and confidence.

Given his stature at Old Trafford, it is fair to assume that he could be available for a reasonable price as well. The Dutchman has previously proven his quality with Ajax in the UEFA Champions League, and he is certainly good enough to play for a top La Liga club like Villarreal.

The €39 million signing of Donny van de Beek has clearly not worked out for Manchester United, and they should look to cut their losses on him. It makes sense for the Premier League club to sell him for a nominal price and invest the proceeds in a player who will be able to help the squad in the coming months.

Manchester United could certainly use more creativity and technical ability in the middle of the park. They have signed Mason Mount to add goals and creativity to the side. But the former Chelsea midfielder has not been able to hit the ground running. Meanwhile, they looked to part ways with van de Beek in the summer as well.

Meanwhile, van de Beek has barely had any opportunities under Erik ten Hag and staying at Old Trafford is certainly detrimental to his career. He needs a fresh start and it remains to be seen whether a move to Villarreal works out in the coming months.

TenHag knows DVB. Like a book, yet he fails to apply him in his preferred position and make him click, TenHag is not Utd. Quality, a bridge way too far for him, if he draws or loose this weekend then he must just get sacked.. period
