Manchester United are looking to offload 26-year-old Dutch midfielder Donny van de Beek before other transfer windows close.

According to a report by 90min, Manchester United want to part ways with Donny van de Beek in the near future. The 26-year-old midfielder is not a part of Erik ten Hag’s plans. and they are looking for a potential destination in Turkey or Qatar for the Dutch international.

Donny van de Beek came through the ranks at Ajax and made it to their first team back in 2016. He went from strength to strength and cemented his spot in the Dutch club’s first team. The 26-year-old was a part of the Ajax team that had a dominating run in the Champions League and ended up reaching the semi-finals back in the 2018-19 season.

On the back of his impressive performances Manchester United acquired his services back in 2020 for £35 million. But, things have not gone according to plan for the Dutch international since making the move to England. He has struggled for game time as well as form.

Last season, the 26-year-old featured in just ten matches in all competitions and was on the pitch for less than 300 minutes before getting injured. While he is back from injury, the Dutch international has fallen down the pecking order.

Manchester United have signed two world-class midfielders in Sofyan Amrabat and Mason Mount. As a result, van de Beek is now surplus to requirements. They want to offload the 26-year-old as soon as possible.

The former Ajax midfielder was linked with a move to Real Sociedad earlier this summer. The Spanish club proposed a loan move. But it did not go through because the Red Devils wanted a buy obligation in the deal.

While the window in most of Europe is now done and dusted, transfer windows in Turkey and Qatar remain open until 15 and 18 September respectively. As a result, Manchester United are looking for potential suitors from these countries for the 26-year-old.

Van de Beek has been left out of United’s Champions League squad and he has been informed that he could even miss out from their Premier League squad which will be finalised today (13 September). As a result, the 26-year-old might end up joining a Turkish or Qatari club.

Manchester United initially wanted a permanent transfer or a loan plus buy obligation deal. But as of now, they are ready to let him leave on a simple loan. While Turkish giants Galatasaray and Fenerbahce were interested in the Dutch international, they have not made any moves yet. And, as per the report, there are a few other clubs that are interested in having him in their ranks.
