Chelsea are interested in acquiring the services of 22-year-old Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez in the upcoming transfer window.

According to a report by 90min, Chelsea want to further bolster their attack in the January transfer window. The Blues are considering signing a new forward and they have their eyes on Santiago Gimenez.

The London club have been one of the most active teams in the transfer market over the past few transfer windows. They have spent a fortune on acquiring the services of some of the best young talents from across Europe.

And, have also offloaded quite a few players that are no longer a part of their plans. While they have done the majority of the part right, the Blues haven’t yet found their ace striker.

The Blues struggled for goals last season but things were expected to change under the leadership of Mauricio Pochettino. They even acquired a few top-class forward but things haven’t gone according to plan.

Nicolas Jackson has hit the ground running but the end product is still missing. Meanwhile, Armando Broja and Christopher Nkunku are yet to return from injury. Pochettino will give them time to get settled and showcase their qualities but if they fail, the Argentine manager will push for a new striker in the winter transfer window.

While his priority is to land 27-year-old Ivan Toney at the club, Chelsea might consider other options as Toney will soon be 28-year-old and investing a big fee on him at this stage of his career might not make that much sense.

As a result, the London club have their eyes on Santiago Gimenez. The 22-year-old Feyenoord striker has been in exceptional form of late. He came through the ranks at CD Cruz Azul before joining the Dutch club.

Since making the move to Feyenoord, the 22-year-old has featured in a total of 50 matches. He has found the back of the net on 28 occasions and even has three assists to his name.

In the ongoing season, the Mexican international has five goals in five games. His exceptional performances have attracted a lot of attention and Chelsea are one of the clubs keen on having him in their ranks.

The Blues could end up pushing for the services of the 22-year-old to end their struggles in front of goal. But, they could face competition from other big English clubs for his signatures.
