Liverpool are interested in acquiring the services of 20-year-old PSV Eindhoven winger Johan Bakayoko in January.
According to a report by Football Insider, Liverpool are keen on having Johan Bakayoko in their ranks. The 20-year-old winger has put in quite a few impressive performances over the past 12 months, and the Merseyside club are plotting to sign him in the winter transfer window.
Bakayoko joined PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2019. He started off at their Under-17 team and came through the ranks. The Belgian international made it to their first team last season. In his very first season in the Dutch top flight, the 20-year-old managed to put in some impressive performances.
He featured in a total of 39 matches in all competitions and contributed towards 15 goals. He found the back of the net on nine occasions and bagged six assists. On the back of his heroics last season, there was a lot of interest in his services in the summer.
Quite a few clubs were ready to prise him away from the Netherlands. Brentford came very close to acquiring his services after submitting a reported club-record bid of £34 million. And Liverpool also showed interest in the young forward this past summer.
But, unfortunately, even that was not good enough as the player chose to continue at
While the Bees will return for him in the winter, they will face tough competition from Liverpool. The Merseyside club are looking to add another right winger to the mix and are doing due diligence over a potential deal to sign Bakayoko in the January transfer window.

With Mohamed Salah’s future uncertain, Jurgen Klopp has started looking for potential replacements. While there is no mention of the Belgian international being a potential replacement, he can surely help them cope with the Eygpt international’s absence if he ends up leaving midway through the season. If not, Bakayoko can anyway be a long-term solution.
