Real Madrid will reportedly demand around €30 million to part ways with 28-year-old French defender Ferland Mendy next year.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Ferland Mendy does not have much time left at Real Madrid. The Merengues want to sign Alphonso Davies to bolster the left-back options in the 2024 summer transfer window. Meanwhile, they will demand €30 million to part ways with the 28-year-old full-back.

Ferland Mendy has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Real Madrid from Lyon over four years ago. The French international hit the ground running at the Santiago Bernabeu, almost immediately usurping Marcelo as the first-choice left-back. But fitness issues started taking a toll on him soon after.

The 28-year-old has turned out 133 times thus far for Real Madrid, chipping in with five goals and ten assists. But Mendy has endured frustrating seasons in the last two campaigns, with his stock gradually falling. And he has yet to make an appearance this term, with another injury curtailing his involvement.

But Mendy might not be the first-choice left-back anymore, with Fran Garcia starting the 2023/24 season strongly. And the report by Defensa Central claims that the Frenchman might not have much more time at Real Madrid. That might also be the case since they are keen on signing Alphonso Davies.

Even the Bayern Munich wide man wants to join Real Madrid in the 2024 summer transfer window. Meanwhile, the Merengues also have several other left-backs on their radar heading into next year, including Ian Maatsen. So, they will likely pursue a left-back in the coming months. And the Spanish giants have now slapped a price tag on Ferland Mendy.

The report claims that Real Madrid will part ways with the 28-year-old if they recoup €30 million from his sale. That is a reasonable price tag on the struggling wide man. And despite his fitness issues, he can be worth €30 million for his suitors next year.
