Manchester United are considering dropping their 23-year-old Brazilian winger Antony from their squad.

According to journalist Rafael Reis via SportWitness, Manchester United are considering leaving Antony out of their squad. Their decision comes after the 23-year-old was removed from the national team squad on Monday. On the back of the action taken by the Brazilian Football Confederation, the Red Devils are now considering changing their behaviour.

Antony has been accused of abuse and domestic violence by his ex-girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin. She outlined the allegations against the Brazil international via the news website UOL on Mondy. The case has been reported to police in São Paulo and Greater Manchester.

While the legal bodies will look into the matter from here on, the Red Devils are now expected to take strict action. They have been silent on this issue so far but because of the decision of the Brazilian Football Confederation to remove him from their national squad, the pressure of Manchester United has increased.

They have now decided to change their behaviour and have started planning to leave him out of their squad. Fan groups and domestic abuse charities have started demanding strict actions from the Red Devils. And, according to the report, they are expected to suspend him. They are likely to follow what they did during the investigation of Mason Greenwood.

Antony is likely to remain suspended until the investigations carry on and a decision regarding his future will only be made once the legal bodies give a verdict on the allegations made against the 23-year-old.

Despite everything that is going on, Antony was today named in the Red Devils’ Champions League squad for the 2023-24 season. But, with the club expected to take a stance soon, things could change very quickly.

The Brazil international arrived at Manchester United last summer in a big-money move from Ajax. The 23-year-old hasn’t found it easy in England and if ends up getting suspended, things will soon go from bad to worse.

And, it could have a huge impact on his career, similar to what it has had on Mason Greenwood who has been sent out on loan to Getafe after being suspended at United for a long while.
