Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio are interested in acquiring the services of 21-year-old Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Lazio would love to have Mason Greenwood in their ranks. The Serie A club are looking for attacking reinforcement, and the 21-year-old beleaguered Manchester United forward could be a great addition to their ranks.

With Manchester United ready to part ways with the Englishman, Maurizio Sarri’s men could acquire his services without much difficulty. Greenwood has come through the ranks at Manchester United.

He was promoted to their first team back in the summer of 2019. The 21-year-old broke onto the scene in some fashion. In his very first season with the first team, he scored 17 goals and racked up over 2,500 minutes.

The Englishman followed it up with another impressive season. The 21-year-old was destined for greatness at Manchester United, but things took a turn midway through the 2021/22 season. Greenwood found himself amidst domestic abuse llegations, and United decided to suspend him.

Earlier this year, the charges against him were dropped. But, the Red Devils decided to wait for the end of the season before making any decisions regarding his future. Around two weeks back, Manchester United announced their decision that they won’t be retaining the 21-year-old and are ready to offload him before the end of the transfer window.

There are quite a few clubs from across Europe keen on having him in their ranks. Even clubs from Saudi Arabia are interested in the 21-year-old, who wants to continue in Europe. Lazio are one of the clubs keen on having him in their ranks.

The Serie A giants want more firepower in attack and believe the Englishman could help their cause. He is capable enough to play as a right winger as well as a striker, and his versatility will allow them to field different combinations. He will add goals to their ranks.

Lazio are pushing for his signatures and have already contacted Manchester United over a potential deal. The talks between the two clubs are in progress. Meanwhile, Di Marzio states that Lazio are seeking Maurizio Sarri’s approval. And once he gives the green light, the transfer can be closed.
