Nottingham Forest and Fulham are both keen on having 24-year-old Chelsea centre-back Malang Sarr in their ranks.
According to Santi Aouna, Nottingham Forest and Fulham are both interested in the services of Malang Sarr. The 24-year-old centre-back hasn’t had the best of times since signing for Chelsea and is expected to be on the move before the end of the transfer window.
Sarr came through the ranks at OGC Nice before joining Chelsea in the summer of 2020. Just months after signing for the Blues, the 24-year-old was sent out on a season-long loan to FC Porto. Post that he stayed at the London club for the 2021-22 season but didn’t get enough game time.
The French youth international failed to leave a mark and he ended up going out on loan to AS Monaco last season. His trip to France wasn’t that great as he featured in 17 matches and was on the pitch for just over 1,000 minutes.
While the 24-year-old still has two years left on his deal with the club, they are considering deciding his future in the ongoing window. The Blues are expected to terminate his contract before the deadline and let him leave the club for free.
The former French youth international might have failed to live up to expectations but he is only 24 years old and can surely revive himself. And, with him likely to be available for free, it seems to be a great opportunity for clubs who have been interested in his services.
Nottingham Forest and Fulham are two clubs who are leading the race for his signatures. Both clubs are desperate to bolster their defence before the end of the transfer window and have been in talks to sign Sarr.
The Cottagers are expected to part ways with Tosin Adarabioyo in the coming days and signing Sarr could help them fill the void left by him. Meanwhile, Forest were not at their best defensively last season and they are looking to add another defender to make sure they have enough depth in the squad.
With Sarr likely to be a free agent soon, it will be interesting to see who comes out on top and manages to land him at the club.
