Tottenham are contemplating making an approach for Leicester City’s Wout Faes as a replacement for the experienced Eric Dier.

According to Sacha Tavolieri, Tottenham are considering an approach for Leicester City star Wout Faes. The 25-year-old Belgian international could return to the Premier League after suffering relegation with the Foxes and potentially replace Eric Dier.

Tottenham are yet to finalise their transfer activity as the North Londoners could make some late moves in the market. Spurs are in for a new attacker and possibly a defender. Ange Postecoglou always wanted at least two new centre-backs. But Tottenham have only managed to bring in Micky van de Ven.

They might wait on some departures from the squad to bring in new faces, with Davinson Sanchez, Japhet Tanganga and Eric Dier all surplus to requirements. The Colombian has played plenty of minutes this season, which hints at Postecoglou’s preference to keep him for squad depth.

Tottenham are ready to cash in on Dier if a suitable offer comes in. If the experienced 29-year-old departs, there is room for a new centre-back. Wout Faes emerged on their list per Sacha Tavolieri, who insists Spurs could contemplate an approach.

The 25-year-old Belgian international could return to the Premier League after suffering relegation with Leicester City last season. His performances for the Foxes did not warrant a big move, as he was one of their worst-performing players during that ill-fated campaign.

He could replace Dier in the squad, with the England international reportedly offered to Bayern Munich, among other clubs. Ideally, someone like the 25-year-old Belgian international Faes should replace Dier and add some depth to the backline.

Faes represents a cost-effective replacement and someone with plenty of years left in the tank. Leicester City could accept a modest fee in exchange. But Spurs have yet to make a formal approach. They remain focused on outgoings, and any move for the 25-year-old Belgian international may have to wait until deadline day.

Tottenham are also keen to bring in a new attacker, with the transfer chatter on Wednesday linking them with a loan move for Barcelona star Ansu Fati. Overall, Spurs need one or two players to come in before deadline day, as that could improve Postecoglou’s squad options.
