Manchester United contemplate late move for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

Manchester United have been linked with a move for 28-year-old Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

A report from Daily Telegraph claims that Manchester United are now plotting a surprise move for the Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. The 28-year-old has been linked with a move away from the North London club recently, especially after the arrival of new manager Ange Postecoglou.

There have been rumours that the 28-year-old is not a good fit for the Australian manager’s free-flowing attacking system. So Tottenham are ready to cash in on him for the right price.

He has been linked with clubs like Atletico Madrid as well, but a move has not materialised. Meanwhile, it is no secret that Manchester United need to bring in midfield reinforcements this summer. They have already parted ways with Brazilian international Fred, and they could lose Scott McTominay before the end of the summer transfer window as well.

The Red Devils will need to replace both players adequately, and Hojbjerg could prove to be a quality acquisition. The 28-year-old is well-settled in the Premier League, and he could make an immediate impact at Old Trafford.

Manchester United have been linked with players like Sofyan Amrabat as well. However, the Denmark international will add a different skillset to the Manchester United midfield, and he will help them control proceedings in the middle of the park and dominate possession.

The opportunity to move to Old Trafford could be an interesting option for the player as well. He has already shown his quality with Southampton and Tottenham in English football. He will look to take the next step in his career and might feel that a move to Manchester United will allow him to win major trophies.

The Red Devils certainly have a quality squad, and they have the financial resources to sign top players. Erik ten Hag helped Manchester United win a domestic trophy last year, and the Red Devils will look to compete for the league title this time around. Signing proven performers like Hojbjerg will certainly help Manchester United improve and compete with the Premier League elite.
