Tottenham Hotspur are considering putting forward a player plus cash offer for the services of 22-year-old Brennan Johnson.

According to Paul O Keefe, Tottenham are keen on having Brennan Johnson in their ranks. The 22-year-old attacking midfielder has been in sensational form over the past 18 months, and there are quite a few clubs interested in the Nottingham Forest sensation’s services.

Johnson has been at Nottingham since his childhood days. He has come up the ranks at the club and was promoted to their first team back in 2019. Post that he had a loan spell at Lincoln City. But of late, the Welsh international has become an integral part of their first team.

Last season, the 22-year-old was involved in a total of 44 games. He was used in five different positions and racked up over 3,300 minutes. Johnson was involved in a total of 13 goals. It was quite an impressive season for the Welsh international, and it hasn’t gone unnoticed as quite a few top clubs are considering pushing for his services.

He has been involved in all three of their Premier League fixtures this season and has featured in three different positions. While he remains an integral part of their first team and has three years left on his deal, the 22-year-old could be on his way out given the amount of interest in him.

Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs keen on having him in their ranks, and they are leading the race for his signatures. Spurs are looking to bolster their squad further before the end of the transfer window. They want to add more creativity and goals to mix after having sold Harry Kane to Bayern Munich.

Signing Johnson will surely help them cope with the absence of the England international as the 22-year-old can feature anywhere in the final third. The London club have already established contacts with Nottingham Forest over a potential deal.

Both the clubs are in talks as they look to figure out if a deal can be struck or not. While the talks continue, O Keefe suggests that there is the possibility of Davison Sanchez joining Nottingham Forest in return. Basically, it will be a player-plus-cash deal that will see the 27-year-old Colombian joining the Tricky Trees.

Sanchez is way down the pecking order under Ange Postecoglou and his contract runs out in less than a year’s time. As a result, offering him in return seems to be a good move from Spurs.
