Chelsea open to loaning out Marc Cucurella amid Manchester United links

Manchester United have received a major boost in their pursuit of 25-year-old Chelsea full-back Marc Cucurella.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are keen on having a new left-back in their ranks before the end of the transfer window. The Red Devils have their eyes set on Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella, and they have received a boost in their pursuit. The Blues are open to loaning out the Spaniard.

Erik ten Hag’s men recently suffered a huge blow because of an injury to their first-choice left-back Luke Shaw. The England international has been a regular feature under the Dutch manager, but the injury means he won’t be available for months.

As a result, Manchester United are keen on adding a new full-back to the mix. They have already spent millions on new transfers and are still looking to acquire the services of Sofyan Amrabat. As a result, they do not have enough in their purse to sign someone on a permanent basis.

They are looking to bring in someone on loan to cover for the absence of Shaw. And, one of the names on their list is Marc Cucurella, who arrived at Chelsea last summer in a deal worth £62 million. The 25-year-old was involved in a total of 33 matches last season.

While he had a decent role in the team last season, things have changed a lot at Chelsea over the past 3-4 months. The 25-year-old is not the first choice under new boss Mauricio Pochettino, and it is pretty clear by the fact that he is yet to make an appearance this season.

Cucurella won’t get enough game time at the West London club, and a move elsewhere could help him. The Spanish international still has five years left on his deal with Chelsea. And, he could have an important role in the team in the future but for now, they might be willing to send him out on loan.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are ready to loan him out this summer. But, they will only agree to a deal on their terms. Basically, the Red Devils will have to accept a certain loan fee as well as the salary coverage terms put forward by the Blues. The two clubs were in contact on Saturday, and things are moving at a decent pace. While Manchester United are pushing for his signatures, they still have a few other options on their list.
