The 16-year-old left the US with his family when they decided to return to Croatia. Klapija was pencilled in to join Dinamo Zagreb back in their home country. Then, NK Kustosija snapped up the exciting striker, for they have a brilliant track record for developing young stars.
Meanwhile, English giants Manchester United and Chelsea are part of several teams keen on signing Klapija from Kustosjia. The Red Devils are already looking at several youth options, with Norwegian talent Sverre Nypan one of their targets.
Similarly, they want to develop their striker options for the future, as they have very few talents coming in that position. Their recent signing of Rasmus Hojlund showed they were keen on the profile and could put into bringing Klipija to Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have been hoarding young talents from around the world as Todd Boehly continues to invest generously. They have also tried to use some of their recently acquired youth talents to buy a striker. But overall, they will continue to push to bring prodigious talents to Stamford Bridge in the future.
Hence, Chelsea’s interest in Klapija comes as no surprise, with the Blues likely to push in the background to sign the 16-year-old Croatian wonderkid. There is fierce competition for the Croatian star.
