Henderson was on loan at Nottingham Forest last season, and there were rumours that Forest could look to sign him permanently this summer. The report claims that Manchester United were hoping to sell the player permanently. But the two clubs have not been able to secure an agreement.
Manchester United signed Andre Onana from Inter Milan earlier this summer, and the Cameroonian goalkeeper is the first choice at Old Trafford. Henderson has been informed that he will have to play second fiddle to the former Inter Milan star. But the Englishman is not keen on a backup role.
The 26-year-old has previously shown his quality in the Premier League with loan spells at Sheffield United and Nottingham Forest. He is certainly good enough to start every week in the Premier League. But it will be interesting to see if he can secure a move away from Manchester United before that summer transfer window closes.
