Chelsea have submitted an offer to secure the services of 23-year-old New England Revolution goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic.

According to a report by 90min, Chelsea are looking to sign another goalkeeper before the end of the ongoing transfer window. The Blues have their eyes set on Djordje Petrovic. The 23-year-old Serbian international has been in sensational form over the last 12 months, and he could be a great addition to the Premier League club’s ranks. The keeper is valued at $20 million.

Petrovic came through the ranks at Čukarički before joining New England Revolution last summer. He has since gone from strength to strength. The Serbian international has featured in a total of 48 matches for the Major League Soccer club and has kept a clean sheet on 15 occasions.

He is widely regarded as the best goalkeeper in the MLS, and there has been a lot of interest in his services from European clubs of late. The 23-year-old was on the radar of Manchester United before they ended up signing Andre Onana.

At this point in time, Chelsea are the only major club keen on bringing him to the Premier League. The Blues have parted ways with Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy in the ongoing transfer window. The West London club managed to acquire the services of Robert Sanchez from Brighton & Hove Albion. But, the departure of Kepa on loan to Real Madrid has forced them to once again enter the market for a goalkeeper. This time, they want to sign the 23-year-old Serbian international Djordje Petrovic.

He has a contract with the MLS club until the end of 2025. But there is a possibility of leaving in the ongoing window. While there has been a lot of interest in the 23-year-old, New England want to keep him at the club until the end of the season. That is because the MLS summer transfer window is already over and they cannot sign a replacement.

However, Chelsea are still confident about acquiring his services and have already submitted an offer for his services. And, according to the report, a fee of around $20 million should be enough to land him at the club. It will be interestsing to see if a summer move sees the light of day.
