Liverpool have enquired about Johan Bakayoko as they are keen to further their interest in the 20-year-old Belgian forward.
Dutch reporter Rik Elfrink insists Liverpool have enquired about Johan Bakayoko with the idea of a potential move to Merseyside. Jurgen Klopp seems like a big admirer of the 20-year-old Belgian forward amid increasing links in the last few days.
Liverpool have many things to accomplish in this transfer window, and signing a new forward is not one of those. Yet, the Reds are seemingly linked with attacking names, especially in positions with proper players. Johan Bakayoko became the latest mention in the media, linked with a move to Merseyside.
We reported yesterday that Liverpool were keen on Bakayoko, with the 20-year-old Belgian forward drawing comparisons to Mohamed Salah. There are two ways to look at these links; one would point at Jurgen Klopp wanting another attacker to bolster his ranks, or the second being they are looking for a replacement for the Egyptian.
The 20-year-old Belgian forward may not have the Egyptian’s experience or polished skills. A recent report from France indicated Liverpool were looking to replace Salah. There are active links to Saudi Arabia and a lucrative offer is on the table. Despite his agent’s comments about commitment, the fears will persist until the transfer window slams shut.

Liverpool are currently looking for new midfielders. After a recent spell of disappointment, they are set to sign Wataru Endo from Stuttgart. The Japanese international plugs an essential gap in their midfield for now, but it does not seem like a long-term solution.
On Bakayoko, Rik Elfrink insists Liverpool have enquired about the 20-year-old ahead of a potential move. Whether the Reds are keen to sign him in this window or making their interest known to the player remains the question.
As per Fabrizio Romano, Bakayoko flourished in this PSV Eindhoven side and had links to Burnley. His electric form since the departure of Noni Madueke has continued, and many other clubs are also keen. Liverpool’s interest could make his head turn, but PSV might ask for a massive asking price.
There are also question marks whether Liverpool will invest in the Belgian in this window as they could splash on a new midfielder and defender. Hence, any move will depend on movements outside the club. Interestingly, Klopp has not replaced Fabio Carvalho in the squad since his departure to RB Leipzig on loan earlier.
