Romelu Lukaku has been linked with a move away from Chelsea this summer, with Tottenham opening talks to sign him.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Tottenham have now opened talks with the West London club in order to discuss a deal to sign the 30-year-old Belgian international, who will cost €45 million.
Lukaku joined Chelsea in a big money deal after helping Inter Milan win the Serie A title back in 2021. However, he never quite managed to live up to the expectations and was loaned back to the Italian club last season.
Lukaku had an underwhelming campaign, and he scored just 14 goals across all competitions. But despite a sub-par campaign, the Nerazzurri were keen on signing him permanently. But Inter Milan have decided against signing him permanently amid his links with Juventus.
However, it seems that Tottenham have now entered the race to sign the striker. Spurs recently sanctioned the departure of Harry Kane to Bayern Munich, and they will look to bring in a quality replacement to fill his enormous void.
Lukaku has certainly proven himself as a reliable goalscorer throughout his career, and he could prove to be a useful acquisition for the North London club. He might be available for a reasonable price of €45 million as well, given the fact that Chelsea are desperate to get rid of him.
The 30-year-old could still be a quality player at a big club if he can regain his confidence and sharpness. Tottenham need experience along with quality to replace someone like Kane and Lukaku would not be a bad option if he is motivated.
The 30-year-old has played ample football in the Premier League, and he should be able to hit the ground running and make an immediate impact.
