Manchester United might look to replace Harry Maguire with 25-year-old English international Fikayo Tomori this summer.

Rudy Galetti has told Give Me Sport that Fikayo Tomori is the subject of interest from Manchester United. The Red Devils are scouring the market for a long-term replacement for Harry Maguire. And the 25-year-old AC Milan centre-back is one of the options on their radar this summer.

Fikayo Tomori has established himself as one of the best defenders in Serie A since joining AC Milan from Chelsea. The English international was one of the catalysts in breaking the mould at the West London club. But after becoming one of the rare academy graduates to become a regular in the first team, he saw his stock dropping.

So the 25-year-old decided to take matters into his own hands and moved to AC Milan on loan in January 2021. And the Rossoneri signed him on a permanent deal in the subsequent summer, with the player becoming a pivotal figure for them. Meanwhile, Tomori has turned out over 100 times for the Serie A giants and played an instrumental role in their title triumph in 2021/22.

Tomori’s progress has not gone unnoticed, with several high-profile Premier League clubs setting their sights on him. And Manchester United might be one of his prospective suitors in the ongoing transfer window.  The Red Devils are scouring the market for a long-term replacement for Harry Maguire.

The English international is closing in on joining West Ham United after agreeing to personal terms in principle. Maguire’s impending departure is necessary, as he has become a bit-part player at Old Trafford. And his compatriot has emerged as a possible target for Manchester United.

But Tomori is not the only centre-back on Manchester United’s radar. They are also interested in Benjamin Pavard, Marc Guehi, and Jean-Clair Todibo. And the Red Devils already have an agreement on personal terms with Pavard. So the AC Milan defender is likely a contingency option for Manchester United.

Meanwhile, AC Milan might not have entertained offers for the 25-year-old English international, considering his importance at San Siro. But it will be interesting to see if Tomori becomes a top target for Manchester United this summer.
