Tottenham might launch the offensive to sign 22-year-old Arsenal prospect Folarin Balogun, whose price tag is €55 million.

According to a report by Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, Folarin Balogun is the subject of interest from Tottenham. The North London giants have identified the Arsenal prospect as one of the options to replace Harry Kane. And Arsenal will demand around €55 million to part ways with the USMNT international.

Folarin Balogun has had a frustrating journey at Arsenal in the last few years. A native of Brooklyn, New York, the 22-year-old joined Arsenal in 2008. And after rising through the ranks at the North London club, he made his first-team debut as a 19-year-old in October 2020. But opportunities have come few and far between for him.

So it was hardly surprising that Balogun joined Stade Reims on loan from Arsenal last summer. And he enjoyed a solid 2022/23 campaign, amassing 22 goals and three assists in 39 appearances. Meanwhile, the youngster has decided to represent the USMNT on the international stage.

Now back at Arsenal, Balogun does not seem to have a long-term future at Arsenal. And as he looks to find a stable footing in his career, he is seeking greener pastures. Several clubs, including West Ham United, have thus shown interest in the young striker. And Tottenham will look to execute an audacious move to secure his services.

Tottenham will enter the market for a striker in the ongoing transfer window. They have parted ways with Harry Kane this summer, with the England captain joining Bayern Munich this week. And while Alejo Veliz has joined Tottenham, the Argentine prospect is not ready to become the club’s first-choice striker.

Several strikers have thus emerged on Tottenham’s radar, with recent reports linking them with Romelu Lukaku and Mehdi Taremi. But Balogun is also a viable target for the North London club. And Arsenal will part ways with the 22-year-old if a suitor shells out €55 million to land him.

But it is unclear if Arsenal will be open to selling the USMNT international to Tottenham. The young striker is one of their best prospects. So losing him to their bitter rivals will be a big blow. And it will be interesting to see if a summer move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium sees the light of day.
