Chelsea are ready to battle it out with Liverpool for the services of 24-year-old Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
According to Dean Jones via GIVEMESPORT, Chelsea have their eyes on Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and would love to have him in their ranks. The Blues are in desperate need of a new midfielder, and they are ready to push for the 24-year-old Leicester star, who is also on the radar of Liverpool.
Leicester City had a forgettable outing last season, as they ended up getting relegated to the Championship. The drop has resulted in financial loss, and they have been forced to sell some of their top talents. While the Foxes have already offloaded a few of their stars, a few more players are looking to part ways with the club.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is one of the players who does not want to continue in the English second division. While his contract runs until the summer of 2027, the 24-year-old is pushing for a move elsewhere. And there are multiple top-flight clubs pushing for his signatures.
Liverpool and Chelsea are both interested in the English midfielder, who scored a brace on the Foxes’ first outing in the Championship. The Merseyside club are looking to complete their midfield overhaul. They are pushing for multiple midfielders, and Dewsbury-Hall is one of the names on the list.
The Reds submitted a British record bid for Chelsea target Moises Caicedo, and it was accepted by Brighton & Hove Albion. However, the player is keen on joining the Blues over Liverpool. Meanwhile, they also have their eyes set on Romeo Lavia and have been in negotiations with Southampton.
Dean Jones on Dewsbury-Hall’s future, “Leicester face a major struggle to cling onto the player because all of a sudden he’s got a line of Premier League suitors. Leicester know he is too good for the Championship, but they are just hoping beyond hope he’s ready to fire them back up to the Premier League.”
“I’m not totally convinced by the Liverpool links, but Chelsea have an eye on it too and there are a couple of mid-to-lower Premier League sides that sense an opportunity here to sign a difference maker because those bigger clubs have not actually made their offers known. I was so impressed by his impact on Sunday but Enzo Maresca will feel he can get so much out of this player and help his growth if he hangs around.”
With Liverpool focused on Lavia, Chelsea could sneak in and acquire the services of Leicester’s wantaway star Dewsbury-Hall. The Blues might be close to the signatures of Caicedo, but they are still looking to add another midfielder.
With the Tyler Adams deal now off, the Blues could move fast to land the 24-year-old at the club. The London club are in desperate need of reinforcement in the centre of the park. They have lost a lot of quality because of the departure of N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic and Mason Mount. As a result, signing multiple midfielders is a must and they have already lodged their interest in the Foxes midfielder.
