Fenerbahce have secured a verbal agreement with Manchester United for the services of 30-year-old midfielder Fred.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United star midfielder Fred is all set to join Fenerbahce. The 30-year-old Brazilian’s future has been uncertain throughout the summer and the Turkish club have been interested in his services for a while now.
Both clubs have finally reached an agreement and the Brazil international is all set to complete his move in the near future. Fred joined Manchester United back in the summer of 2018. He has since featured in a total of 213 matches and has been involved in a total of 33 goals.

Over the last few seasons, his game time did take a hit but he has still remained an important part of their first team. Last season under Erik ten Hag, the 30-year-old featured in a total of 56 matches and contributed towards 12 goals,
While he featured as a substitute in the majority of those matches, the Brazil international still racked up close to 2300 minutes. Despite performing on a consistent basis, Fred doesn’t have a future at the club under the Dutch manager.
Ten Hag has already signed Mason Mount and is keen on adding Sofyan Amrabat to his midfield. As a result, he is ready to let go of the 30-year-old. Having already spent a fortune on new signings, Ten Hag is looking to offload a few of their players to raise funds.
Harry Maguire is closing in on a move to West Ham and Fred is all set to join the Turkish club. They are also looking to find a new club for Scott McTominay. Their departure will help United complete the signing of Amrabat who is very important to the former Ajax manager’s plans moving ahead.
Meanwhile, Fred to Fenerbahce is in its final stages. The Turkish club had submitted a proposal worth €15 million with add-ons included. Both clubs were in negotiations and they have finally reached an agreement.
While they are yet to put pen to paper, a verbal agreement is in place. The player has agreed personal terms and is all set to travel for his medical.
