Barcelona will reportedly look to re-sign Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy him next summer.

According to a report by The Independent, Neymar is the subject of interest from Barcelona over a possible move in the ongoing transfer window. And the reigning La Liga champions are exploring the possibility of a loan deal. Barcelona will also include a mandatory purchase clause in the agreement. But PSG will look to recoup €60 million from the Brazilian’s sale.

Neymar has endured a rollercoaster ride since joining Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona in a world-record deal. Les Parisiens shocked the world half a dozen years when they paid a staggering €222 million to land the 31-year-old. But fitness issues and run-ins have hampered his spell at Parc des Princes.

But Neymar’s misgivings have not impacted his performance levels, as he has a stunning record for PSG. And he contributed to 35 goals in 29 outings last term, finding the back of the net 18 times while providing 17 assists. But the Brazilian international does not feature in Luis Enrique’s plans, with PSG ready to sell him for €60 million. Meanwhile, the situation has alerted Barcelona.

Joan Laporta is reportedly pushing Barcelona to re-sign Neymar from PSG this summer. Recent reports have also claimed that intermediaries have offered the player to Barcelona. But Xavi Hernandez initially showed hesitation to re-sign him in the ongoing transfer window.

However, Xavi’s stance has reportedly softened in the last few days, especially after PSG officially put him up for sale. And the latest update reveals Barcelona’s ploy to secure Neymar’s services in the ongoing transfer window. The report by The Independent suggests Barcelona will look to re-sign him in a loan-to-buy deal.

The reigning La Liga champions are ready to include a mandatory purchase clause in the agreement. But it is unclear if PSG will sanction a loan deal, considering they want to recoup €60 million from Neymar’s sale. Meanwhile, the Brazilian international should be a solid short-term replacement for Ousmane Dembele.
