Newcastle United will need to pay €30 million to sign Italian international attacker Nicolo Zaniolo from Galatasaray this summer.

According to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, Nicolo Zaniolo is the subject of interest from Newcastle United. The Magpies are competing with several other clubs to land the Italian international attacker. And Galatasaray will demand around €30 million to part ways with him in the ongoing transfer window.

Nicolo Zaniolo surprised many by joining Galatasaray from AS Roma earlier this year in January. While the 24-year-old had become surplus to requirements at Stadio Olimpico, he was still highly rated. But despite interest from several well-known clubs, he decided to continue his career in Turkey.

The Italian international attacker was solid for Galatasaray in the second half of the 2022/23 season. And he has chipped in with five goals and one assist thus far in 12 appearances. But Zaniolo’s future is uncertain, with widespread reports linking him with a move away from the Turkish club. And the situation has captured the attention of Newcastle United.

The Magpies have been busy in the market this summer, with several players coming in and going out of St. James’ Park. Sandro Tonali and Harvey Barnes have been the notable arrivals at Newcastle United in the ongoing transfer window. But they are yet to address the attacking midfield berth after losing the race to sign James Maddison.

The versatile Nicolo Zaniolo has thus emerged as a viable target for Newcastle United. And his versatility means the Italian international attacker can also feature on the right flank if Eddie Howe requires it. Most importantly, he will add goals to the Newcastle United squad, taking some load off Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak.

The Magpies now know how much it will take for them to prise Zaniolo away from Galatasaray. And the Turkish giants want to recoup €30 million from his sale, exclusive of add-ons. That is a reasonable asking price, making the 24-year-old an attractive prospect for Newcastle United.

But Juventus, Al Hilal, and two other Premier League clubs are also keen on securing Zaniolo’s services. And it will be interesting to see if Newcastle United can beat the competition to sign the €30 million-rated Italian international attacker.
