Leeds United are all set to complete the signing of 25-year-old Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Joe Rodon on a season-long loan.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Leeds United have been interested in the services of Joe Rodon of late, and they have managed to secure an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur over a season-long loan for the 25-year-old defender.
Leeds suffered a major blow as skipper Liam Cooper got injured on their return to the EFL Championship. The 31-year-old defender injured his foot in the opening match of the season against Cardiff City and was stretchered off. He is all set to be out for the next eight weeks.
Cooper’s injury meant Daniel Farke was in desperate need of a new centre-back to cover up for his skipper’s absence. They identified the 25-year-old Tottenham defender as a potential target and started making moves. Finally, they have an agreement in place regarding a loan move, and it should be official in the near future.
The Welsh defender showed promise while playing for Swansea City back in the day, and his performances resulted in a move to Tottenham back in 2020. While the 25-year-old was expected to establish himself in their first team, he has failed to do so.

He has only managed to feature in a total of 24 matches for their first team. In search of more minutes, the 25-year-old was loaned out to Rennes last season. And the player ended up featuring in a total of 22 matches and racked up close to 2,000 minutes.
The former Swansea City defender has returned to his parent club, but he does not really have a future at the club. He is unlikely to get much game time at Tottenham Hotspur next season. As a result, they are ready to let him leave on another loan move.
The 25-year-old might not have made many first-team appearances for Spurs, but he has been an important player for the Welsh national team. The Tottenham defender was a part of the squad that made it to the FIFA World Cup 2022 for the first since 1958.
Leeds have not had the best of times of late. They were not at their best in the Premier League and ended up getting relegated. It has resulted in huge financial loss and they have also lost out on a few of their players because of the relegation clause and a few more could be on their way out amid interest in Tyler Adams.
The defence was their major concern last time out as they conceded the most number of goals in the English top flight. As a result, Leeds United have been focused on reinforcing their defence. The injury to Cooper might have come as a huge blow they have dealt with it by signing Rodon.
