Tottenham are eyeing a part-exchange move for Brennan Johnson and could allow Joe Rodon and Djed Spence to join Nottingham Forest.

According to a report by Daily Mail, Djed Spence and Joe Rodon could leave in a part-exchange deal for Brennan Johnson. Nottingham Forest value the winger at £50 million, but it will take a monumental effort from Tottenham to sign the attacker.

Nottingham Forest are far from done with their summer business, as Steve Cooper will have a busy period between now and the end of the window. While the manager seems intent on recruiting some players to strengthen his squad, he has to keep a mindful watch on potential outgoings.

One of his critical stars, Brennan Johnson, continues to attract the interest of bigger clubs. And Forest are fighting to keep him on board. Brentford came in with two sizeable bids, with the latest reportedly around the £40 million mark. But Forest are not about to entertain any offers below their valuations for the £50 million-rated attacker.

Tottenham are now ready to return with an approach to their fellow Premier League club as the North Londoners eye a late move for the Forest star. Spurs have maintained an interest in Johnson but have remained entangled in the Harry Kane saga. With the striker’s story likely to conclude at the end of this week, they could then focus on other requirements.

They have closed the deal for Micky van de Ven and Argentine youngster Alejio Veliz is on the verge of joining. The duo are close to finalising their moves, and now, Tottenham will look at other areas to strengthen. Why they need another winger in the mould of Johnson remains the question. But the 22-year-old would improve their attack.

Tottenham are reportedly willing to include Djed Spence and Joe Rodon in a part-exchange deal to land the £50 million-rated attacker. Whether Forest are receptive to such an offer remains the question, but Cooper might look again at Spence.

The right-back spent the season on loan at Nottingham Forest in which they qualified for the top tier. But Forest were unfortunately unable to re-sign him. Instead, Spence arrived at Tottenham, and his transfer was publicly criticised by then Spurs boss, Antonio Conte.

Tottenham are open to selling Spence and Rodon, with both players not featuring in Ange Postecoglou’s plans for the season. Hence, it is a decent idea from Tottenham to land Johnson. But we think it won’t prove enough to tempt Forest into a sale.
