Chelsea have been linked with a move for Tyler Adams in recent weeks, and they have contacted the Leeds United midfielder’s entourage.

According to a report from 90min, Chelsea have sounded out the representatives of Tyler Adams over a move this summer. The USMNT international has a release clause of £25 million and is also thought to be on the radar of clubs like Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Adams did quite well for Leeds United in the Premier League last season. So it is no surprise that top teams like Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham, and Chelsea are keen on securing his signature. Leeds have been relegated to the Championship, and the 24-year-old American international wants to return to the top flight as soon as possible.

He is certainly good enough to play for a top club, and it remains to be seen where he ends up. That he has a release clause worth only £25 million makes him an attractive option for suitors like Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Tottenham.

Liverpool need to bring in a quality replacement for Fabinho, and the Leeds midfielder would be a superb option. Similarly, Manchester United will need to replace Scott McTominay if he leaves the club this summer. Meanwhile, Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has also been linked with a move away from the club, and Adams could be his replacement.

Chelsea recently sanctioned the departures of Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante. Conor Gallagher and Enzo Fernandez are the only reliable central midfielders at the club right now. So Mauricio Pochettino must look to bring in multiple reinforcements in the middle of the park. And Chelsea have approached Adams’s entourage over a possible summer move.

Adams could prove to be a quality acquisition for a reasonable price of £25 million, and it remains to be seen whether the Blues can beat the competition from their Premier League rivals and secure his signature. The 24-year-old will look to prove himself at the highest level. And the opportunity to join one of the biggest clubs in the world could be hard to turn down.

Chelsea might not be playing in the Champions League next season. But they are still one of the biggest clubs in the world and have the resources to compete for the major trophies. The new owners have spent considerable sums of money to improve the squad. So there is no reason why they cannot compete for the league title and domestic trophies next year.
