Chelsea pushing to seal part-exchange deal to sign Dusan Vlahovic, fresh talks scheduled

Chelsea have been linked with a swap deal involving Dusan Vlahovic and Romelu Lukaku in the ongoing transfer window.

A report from Corriere dello Sport via Sport Witness claims Chelsea are now pushing to seal the part-exchange deal to sign Serbian international Dusan Vlahovic. And they have fresh talks scheduled with Juventus. The Bianconeri value their striker at €70-80 million.

Romelu Lukaku does not have a future at Stamford Bridge, and he has been linked with a move away from the club recently. The Belgian was expected to move to Inter Milan, but the move did not materialise.

Juventus are open to providing the Belgian international with an exit route, and it remains to be seen whether the two clubs can work out an exchange deal that benefits them both. Vlahovic has been quite underwhelming since his move to Juventus and he could look to make a fresh start in his career. Talks over a deal involving him have taken place.

A move to Chelsea would be ideal for him. Mauricio Pochettino could unlock the 23-year-old’s potential and help him get back to his best. Vlahovic was regarded as one of the best young strikers in the world during his time at Fiorentina. But he has not been able to replicate that form since his move to Juventus.

The 23-year-old scored 14 goals across all competitions, and he will be expected to perform at a better level if he moves to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea struggled to score goals consistently last season, and they could certainly use a proven goalscorer. Vlahovic has the physical and technical attributes to thrive in English football.

Juventus are probably hoping for Lukaku plus cash for the Serbian international striker, and it remains to be seen whether the two clubs can reach a compromise soon. They value Vlahovic at around €70-80 million. And the two clubs will soon sit down for a fresh round of talks.

It is evident that the two players need to move on from their respective clubs and a swap deal would be ideal for all parties. Chelsea had a disappointing 2022/23 campaign, finishing 12th in the league table.

They will be looking to get back into the top four and qualify for the Champions League next season. They need better players at their disposal, and Vlahovic would be a solid long-term investment.
