Matt Turner has been linked with a move away from Arsenal this summer, with Nottingham Forest set to sign him.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Matt Turner is now closing in on a move to Nottingham Forest. Arsenal have already reached a verbal agreement with the Premier League club regarding a move for the 29-year-old, and it remains to be seen whether the two parties can finalise an agreement now.

Turner was unlikely to get regular game time at Arsenal. So it makes sense for him to move on and try to resurrect his career at City Ground. Nottingham Forest needed to add more quality and depth to their goalkeeping unit, and Turner recently emerged as a viable target. The USMNT international should prove to be a useful acquisition.

Nottingham Forest have been heavily linked with a move for Manchester United keeper Dean Henderson as well. It will be interesting to see if they decide to sign the 26-year-old after having secured Turner. The 29-year-old Arsenal goalkeeper can be a useful option for Nottingham Forest. But Henderson is probably someone with a higher potential.

Meanwhile, Turner will look to prove his quality in the Premier League with regular football, and it will be interesting to see if he can hold down a regular starting spot for Nottingham Forest. The 29-year-old is at the peak of his powers, and he will look to hit the ground running at his new club.

As for Arsenal, the Gunners have Aaron Ramsdale at their disposal, and they are thought to be keen on signing David Raya from Brentford. Raya and Ramsdale should prove to be excellent goalkeeping options for them in the foreseeable future.

The 27-year-old Spanish international will look to take the next step in his career, and the opportunity to join Arsenal could prove to be tempting. It remains to be seen whether he can dislodge Ramsdale as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper next season.
