West Ham United have presented with a ‘take-it or leave-it’ offer to sign James Ward-Prowse, but Southampton stick to their £40 million demand.

A report by talkSPORT claims that West Ham United’s latest offer for James Ward-Prowse has a ‘take-it or leave-it’ condition attached. The Hammers do not intend to pay Southampton’s £40 million asking price, with their latest bid amounting to £30 million.

Are West Ham United overcomplicating matters regarding simple, straightforward transfers? Probably so because the conversations around social media have been about their possible bid for Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse, and the Hammers are playing hardball with their offers so far.

After Southampton rejected their opening offer worth £20 million, West Ham were expected to lodge a fresh proposal. The new offer did come worth £30 million, but the Saints are not keen to lower their £40 million asking price for their captain.

The 28-year-old star has unfinished business in the Premier League, namely the free-kick goals record currently held by David Beckham. However, with a potential place in the England team at stake, Ward-Prowse must move back to the Premier League if he can.

So far, West Ham are the only reliable side keen on taking the 28-year-old back to the top flight, but there is no agreement with Southampton yet. Talks had been advanced between the two clubs. But the Saints are holding on to their £40 million valuations.

West Ham’s new bid worth £30 million has a ‘take-it or leave-it’ condition attached, as per Talk Sport. If so, will the Hammers bow out of the race altogether and move on to other targets? They are already closing in on Denis Zakaria from Juventus, but the former Chelsea flop will not cut it here.

Conversely, Ward-Prowse is an archetypical David Moyes-type player, and the Hammers will largely benefit from having the Saints captain on board. However, West Ham must make ends meet and ensure they come close to Southampton’s asking price.

The two clubs are far apart in their respective valuations of the 28-year-old star, which could scupper the deal. Everyone knows West Ham has the cash from the Declan Rice sale and will continue to demand top dollar for their big players, including Ward-Prowse.

Everyone knows that 40 million for almost 29 year old JWP is way too much including JWP himself . He will be upset to have his England career and Premier League career end now and may down tools with Southampton unless they budge . Scamacca is likely to leave Westham for cheap as well as Antonio and Cresswell and so clearly the players wishes can be factored in to the equation . Thus far Westham’s transfer window has proven to be the most catastrophic ever with the very core of staff and players leaving or wishing to leave .
