Romelu Lukaku agrees Juventus contract

Romelu Lukaku has agreed to personal terms with Juventus, but any move hinges on Dusan Vlahovic leaving the club.

According to Sacha Tavolieri via Simon Phillips , Romelu Lukaku has an agreement in place on personal terms with Juventus. The Serie A side are eager to sign the Belgian, but any move hinges on Dusan Vlahovic leaving, with fresh fears about his fitness.

Chelsea are eager to sell Romelu Lukaku as soon as possible to fund new incomings to Stamford Bridge. The striker has not been a good presence for them since signing on a then-record deal from Inter Milan, where he also spent the previous season on loan.

Despite an underwhelming season, Inter Milan were adamant about signing Lukaku permanently. They had lined up a €40 million offer, which Chelsea might have accepted. In the nick of time, they pulled out of the race altogether after the Belgian held talks with rivals Juventus.

Now, the Turin giants are keen to wrap up a move for the Belgian as soon as possible, with the 14-goal Chelsea ace now agreeing to personal terms with Juventus. Sacha Tavolieri insists Lukaku will likely sign a 3-year deal with the option of a fourth season.

Juventus had lined up fresh talks with Chelsea to find an agreement on the fee. However, as they had conditioned earlier, any move will depend on Duisan Vlahovic leaving Turin and generating decent cash.

Chelsea were also linked with a part-exchange deal for Vlahovic, where the Blues pay the difference in cash. Juventus are concerned about the Serbian’s prospects of leaving the club following some injury issues. Tavolieri explains that the Serbian’s physical fragility in the adductor muscles could become problematic.

There’s now the fear those issues could scupper any move away from Juventus. In that case, the Serie A giants cannot sign Lukaku as they do not have the funds to manage this transfer. The journalist also insists that with such a physical problem, Vlahovic could fail his medical tests, leading to more complications.

As for Lukaku, he remains desperate to leave Chelsea at all costs this summer. He also had some admiration from the Saudis, but for now, he has decided to continue in Europe and preferably join Juventus.
