Aston Villa are considering pushing for the services of 26-year-old Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos in the ongoing transfer window.

According to a report by SPORT, Aston Villa are keen on having Dani Ceballos in their ranks and are planning to submit an official offer for the services of the 26-year-old midfielder. Unai Emery is a big admirer of the Spanish international and has asked his new sports director Monchi to push for his signatures.

The Spanish international is currently recovering from an injury that he suffered in early July and has missed the preseason. He is unlikely to be fit in time to be a part of Real Madrid’s squad for the initial few fixtures.

The 26-year-old joined Los Blancos back in the summer of 2017 after coming through the ranks at Real Betis. The Spanish international was not getting much game time at Madrid and he was sent out on loan to Arsenal for two seasons from 2019 to 2021.

After he returned to his parent club, nothing much changed as still could not establish himself as a regular in the team. However, things did change towards the end of last season. The 26-year-old started getting game time and he managed to impress one and all with his performances.

While there was interest from Aston Villa and AC Milan, Real Madrid offered him a new deal and he ended up signing it. When he penned down a new deal with Los Blancos, the talks of a move in the ongoing window slowly faded but they have returned because of the kind of business Carlo Ancelotti’s team have done in the transfer market.

They have acquired the services of Jude Bellingham and Arda Guler. Real Madrid had numerous top-quality midfielders and adding the duo means, Ceballos might once again struggle for minutes. As a result, a move elsewhere just months after signing a new deal does make sense.

Emery has worked with the 26-year-old during his time at Arsenal, and he believes the Real Madrid midfielder could be a great fit for the club. He is ready to offer Ceballos an important role in the team ensuring him regular minutes on the pitch something he might not get at Real Madrid.

The Spanish manager has asked Monchi to bring him to Villa Park. And, Aston Villa are all set to put forward an offer worth €15 million to sign the 26-year-old at the request of their manager. People at the club have a lot of faith in Emery because of the kind of impact he has had in such a short time and they want to give everything he needs to ensure they have a successful 2023-24 season.
