Arsenal, Chelsea rival Liverpool, Manchester United in Sofyan Amrabat chase

Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in acquiring the services of Manchester United and Liverpool target Sofyan Amrabat.

According to a report by The Independent, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool are all interested in the services of Sofyan Amrabat. The 26-year-old Fiorentina midfielder has been in sensational form over the past 12 months, and he is expected to be on the move to a bigger club in the ongoing window.

Amrabat came into the limelight after his heroics in the FIFA World Cup 2022. The Moroccan international was among the best players in the tournament, and he was one of the major reasons for his nation’s exceptional run that ended in the semi-finals.

His club form was not bad either as the 26-year-old helped the Italian club reach the Coppa Italia as well as UEFA Europa Conference League final. His performances have resulted in a total interest, and clubs have been keeping a close eye on him since the winter of 2023.

Of late, Manchester United have been making moves to sign the Fiorentina midfielder. The Red Devils are looking to sign a defensive midfielder who can help cover for Casemiro and start alongside him in a double pivot when needed.

The Red Devils are closing in on an agreement with the Italian club over a deal worth £26 million according to reports. But, they are not the only club making moves. Even Liverpool are in desperate need of a new defensive midfielder.

Their priority is to sign Romeo Lavia from Southampton. But the Reds have failed to strike a deal with the Saints. The negotiations have reached a standstill. As a result, Liverpool could look for alternatives and one of the names on their list is Amrabat.

As per reports, the Merseyside club had approached him over a potential deal, but he has turned it down. While Manchester United and Liverpool are making moves to sign the 26-year-old, Arsenal and Chelsea are keeping a close eye on the situation.

The Blues have been in talks with Brighton & Hove Albion over a potential deal for Moises Caicedo. But, the Seagulls valuation has become a major roadblock. As a result, they could shift their focus towards the Moroccan international.

Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta’s team are also interested in Amrabat’s services. With Thomas Partey’s future at the club uncertain, the Gunners could push for the services of the 26-year-old if he ends up leaving. While there is interest from some of the biggest Premier League clubs, Manchester United might end up winning the race for his services as they are way ahead of others.
