Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat is not interested in joining Liverpool, he wants to join Manchester United.

According to a report by Corriere della Sera, Liverpool are interested in acquiring the services of Sofyan Amrabat. The Merseyside club recently made an approach for the signatures of the 26-year-old defensive midfielder. But, the player is not keen on making the move.

Jurgen Klopp is looking for further reinforcement in the centre of the park. Liverpool has already signed Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai. While they have signed two world-class midfielders, there is still a lot of work to be done.

After the end of the season, they parted ways with three of their senior midfielders. And, as of now, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson are all set to leave the club. The duo have been approached by Saudi Pro League clubs and will complete their move in the near future.

Their departure will leave a huge void that the Merseyside club will have to fill by signing multiple players. And, their focus at this point in time is to land a defensive midfielder and Amrabat is one of their targets.

The 26-year-old midfielder has been the talk of the town post his heroics at the FIFA World Cup 2022. The Moroccan international was on fire in the global event as he helped his team become the first African nation to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup.

Amrabat has been putting in consistent performances throughout the last 12 months for his club. During the 2022-23 season, he featured in a total of 49 matches and racked up close to 3500 minutes. He helped them reach the final of the Coppa Italia and the UEFA Conference League.

On the back of his impressive performances, there has been a lot of interest in his services. Liverpool are one of the clubs keen on having him in their ranks. While Amrabat wants to join a Premier League club, he is not interested in joining them and has turned down their approach.

Meanwhile, he is keen on joining Manchester United. The Red Devils are looking to further bolster their midfield and have the 26-year-old as a priority target. They want to sign someone who can provide cover for Casemiro and even start alongside the Brazilian. And, the Fiorentina midfielder seems to be a perfect fit.

The Italian club are looking for a fee of around €30 million. Meanwhile, the Manchester-based club would love a discount on the asking price as they work on offloading players to raise funds for further signings after having acquired the likes of Mason Mount and Andre Onana.
