Barcelona will not succeed in signing Leroy Sane, with the German international keen on remaining at Bayern Munich.

According to German journalist Christian Falk, Leroy Sane has no interest in joining Barcelona in the ongoing transfer window. The 27-year-old wants to remain at Bundesliga club Bayern Munich this summer. And he will take a call on his future next year and is eager to focus on the upcoming season.

Leroy Sane has been an enigmatic attacker since his days at FC Schalke 04. A graduate of the 2. Bundesliga outfit’s academy, the German international rose to prominence at the Veltins-Arena before moving to England. And his stock skyrocketed during his four-year stint with Manchester City.

The 27-year-old returned to the Bundesliga nearly three years ago by joining Bayern Munich. And he has blown hot and cold in the last three seasons at the Allianz Arena. But Sane was solid in the 2022/23 campaign, contributing to 24 goals (14 strikes and ten assists). But the player’s future has been uncertain for some time, with Barcelona showing interest in him.

Barcelona will lose Ousmane Dembele in the ongoing transfer window. The French international has decided to move to Paris Saint-Germain, leaving the Blaugrana in limbo. So Barcelona will have to delve into the market for an offensive reinforcement. And a few names have emerged on their radar.

Some of the candidates on Barcelona’s wishlist include Jeremy Doku, Yannick Carrasco, and Joao Felix. But Leroy Sane also popped up on the reigning La Liga champions’ radar over a possible move in the ongoing transfer window. And considering he is at the peak of his powers, the 27-year-old is a viable target.

But Barcelona will have to identify alternatives to the German international, who does not want to leave Bayern Munich. Sane is happy and content at the Bundesliga club and has no interest in joining Barcelona. And he will complete the upcoming season before taking a call on his future in the 2024 summer transfer window.

It will be interesting to see who becomes the top target for Barcelona to replace Ousmane Dembele this summer. For now, the Catalan giants are scrambling for a top-notch candidate to fill the Frenchman’s void, which Sane will not be.
