Sergio Reguilon has been linked with a permanent move away from Tottenham Hotspur this summer, with Real Sociedad keen.

According to Noticias De Gipuzkoa, Sergio Reguilon could end up joining Real Sociedad this summer. The Spanish outfit are keen on signing the Spanish defender, and it remains to be seen whether they can agree on a deal with Tottenham.

The former Real Madrid player does not have a future at the North London club and it makes sense for him to move on this summer. Regular game time at Real Sociedad could be ideal for the player at this stage of his career, and it will be interesting to see if the two clubs can agree on a deal.

Reguilon was expected to develop into a key player for Tottenham when he joined the club from Real Madrid in a €30 million deal. But he has struggled to adapt to English football. He was on loan at Atletico Madrid last season and failed to be a regular starter for the Spanish side either.

The Spaniard needs to join a club where he will get ample game time, and it remains to be seen whether Real Sociedad are prepared to provide him with that opportunity. The 26-year-old has shown his quality in Spanish football in the past, and there is no doubt that he could be a key player for Real Sociedad in the coming seasons.

Meanwhile, Spurs will be looking to get rid of him and invest the proceeds from his sale into a new player. Tottenham need to bring in reinforcements in the defensive department, and they have been linked with a number of central defenders, including Victor Nelsson.

As far as the left-back position is concerned, they have Ben Davies, Ryan Sessegnon and Destiny Udogie at their disposal. Reguilon would not get much game time at the London club, and he will be hoping to complete a move away from the Premier League side as soon as possible. Tottenham are also ready to part ways with him.

Spurs paid €30 million to sign the defender from Real Madrid, and it will be interesting to see if they can recoup most of that this summer. Given his performances over the past season, the North London club might have to cut their losses on him and sell him for a bargain.
