Tottenham prioritising Tosin Adarabioyo move

Tottenham will reportedly prioritise signing Fulham centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo in the ongoing summer transfer window.

Ryan Taylor has told Give Me Sport that Tosin Adarabioyo is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur. And the Fulham defender is one of two priority centre-back targets for the North London club this summer. The 25-year-old is currently on £40,000-a-week wages, making him an attractive option.

Tosin Adarabioyo started his youth career at Hough End Griffins Juniors FC. But he spent most of his formative years at Manchester City before graduating from the club’s academy several years ago. But the Manchester native could not establish a foothold in the Manchester City first team after two loan spells. And Fulham snapped him up nearly three years ago.

Adarabioyo’s debut season saw Fulham drop to the EFL Championship. But after helping them return to the Premier League, he played his part in a memorable 2022/23 campaign. The player has turned out over 100 times thus far for the West London club, chipping in with three goals and two assists. And his progress has captured the attention of Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham will look to sign multiple centre-backs in the summer transfer window. The North London giants are on the cusp of selling Davinson Sanchez. In addition, Eric Dier and Ben Davies have been inconsistent for Tottenham. So it behoves them to invest in two central defenders this summer.

They have thus shown interest in several centre-backs, including Clement Lenglet. But Ryan Taylor has claimed that Micky van de Ven and Tosin Adarabioyo are Tottenham’s priority targets. And recent reports have already heavily linked the former with the North London club. And the Fulham defender also appears to be high on Tottenham’s wishlist.

The 25-year-old currently pockets wages worth only £40,000 per month. That figure makes him an attractive option for Tottenham. And considering he is well-settled in the Premier League, the former Manchester City prospect has emerged as a viable target for the North London club.

Tottenham can easily match Adarabioyo’s £40,000-a-week wages. And with the player entering the final year of his contract with Fulham, he should be available for an affordable sum. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can secure his services after prioritising a summer move.
