Davinson Sanchez is close to leaving Tottenham Hotspur after receiving a sizeable offer from Russian side Spartak Moscow.

Colombian journalist Pipe Tierra insists Davinson Sanchez is close to joining Spartak Moscow in the coming days. The Russian side have made a €12 million offer to sign the defender, as Tottenham already agreed to the terms.

Davinson Sanchez has never realised his talent since joining Tottenham in 2018. The 27-year-old cost £42 million in that window and has been a questionable presence in this Spurs side for years and under many managers.

Not all those in charge were adamant about picking him, and as years passed, he became a peripheral figure, only good enough to come on as a substitute. He is one of the top names to leave the club in this window, and the 27-year-old Tottenham star has attracted plenty of interest.

First, Real Betis were keen to sign him, considering he was available on the cheap. The interest from the Spanish side slowly wavered and eventually died down. However, other teams can come for him while remaining in this window.

Meanwhile, Galatasaray held a serious interest in the defender, considering some of their best players at the back are expected to depart this summer. Victor Nelsson, linked with Tottenham, was the main star they needed replacing and considered the Colombian for the role.

Some reports suggested Galatasaray had accepted a player plus cash deal for Nelsson involving Sanchez and that the Danish star was close to joining Tottenham. However, Spartak Moscow have come into the picture for the Colombian and have made a sizeable offer.

The €12 million offered by the Russian side satisfies Tottenham’s valuation, and the north London side have reportedly accepted the proposal. It’s now up to Sanchez to agree on terms and begin a new chapter. There has been scrutiny over joining Russian sides, but the player seems open to the move.

As per Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra, Sanchez is close to becoming a Spartak Moscow player and could agree on personal terms in the coming period. The 27-year-old Tottenham star also does not look down on Russian football and seems happy to play there.

As for Tottenham, they remain focused on the Harry Kane saga and will look to bring defenders. Edmond Tapsoba remains high on their list, while Victor Nelsson and Micky van de Ven are important options.
