Former Premier League champions Leicester City are reportedly interested in 20-year-old Manchester United prospect Hannibal Mejbri.
According to Noussour TN, Hannibal Mejbri is a popular figure in the market in the ongoing transfer window. And Manchester United will likely sanction a loan move for the 20-year-old prospect this summer. Former Premier League winners Leicester City will be among his suitors.
Hannibal Mejbri spent most of his formative years in France, passing through the youth divisions at Paris FC, AC Boulogne-Billancourt, and AS Monaco. But he finished his footballing education at Manchester United, having arrived at the Premier League club in August 2019.
The 20-year-old progressed through the ranks in the fabled Manchester United Academy before making his first-team debut in May 2021. A native of Ivry-sur-Seine in France, he represented the country of his birth in age-group international football. But Mejbri has chosen to turn out for Tunisia at the senior level.
The Tunisian international made his international debut in June 2021 and has since made 23 further appearances. Meanwhile, Mejbri has turned out thrice thus far for Manchester United. And after returning from a loan spell with Birmingham City FC, the youngster’s future is uncertain.
Manchester United will look to loan the 20-year-old prospect out again to help him continue his progress. Considering how highly the coaches at the Premier League club have rated Mejbri, regular game time will help. And with a few midfielders on the wrong side of 30, he might get his opportunities at Manchester United in the future.
Meanwhile, Leicester City will be one of the clubs keen on securing Mejbri’s services this summer. The former Premier League champions are desperate to return to the top flight after their relegation to the EFL Championship. And after losing Youri Tielemans and Nampalys Mendy, Leicester City can do with a midfielder.

Apart from Leicester City, Luton Town and an unnamed club are also keen on signing Mejbri. And it will be interesting to see how the stories surrounding the 20-year-old develop. Nonetheless, a loan move away from Manchester United this summer will indubitably do the Tunisian international a world of good.
