Manchester United could make an official offer for Rasmus Hojlund in the coming week as talks progress for the 20-year-old striker.
According to Alfredo Pedulla, Manchester United could line up an offer next week as talks with Atalanta progress. The Red Devils could make an official bid and hold direct talks with the Italian side to finalise a move for the 20-year-old target, who also features on PSG’s radar.
Manchester United are keen to land a top-draw striker and have been searching for one throughout this window. Erik ten Hag may have seen the need for a new No.9 after failing with the loan experiment of Wout Weghorst. Moreover, Anthony Martial again had an injury-ravaged season, meaning the manager may no longer trust the Frenchman.
They were already priced out of deals for Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen. Manchester United have since fixated their eyes on Rasmus Hojlund, with the 20-year-old now one of their primary targets of this window. The biggest stumbling block has been Atalanta’s ever-increasing asking price. Hojlund scored 16 goals across all competitions last season.
At one stage, Atalanta intended to ask for around €100 million, but Manchester United was confident of reducing that demand. Recent reports suggested the Red Devils had suggested a €50-55 million price, which the Italians may have verbally rejected.

Reports insist Manchester United could offer €60 million for the striker, including a fixed base and lucrative add-ons. Whether Atalanta are open to accepting around that range remains the question, as the deal may become more complicated due to rival interest.
PSG are interested in Hojlund as the French giants continue searching for a new striker. Names like Dusan Vlahovic got mentioned earlier, but the 20-year-old could also become one concrete option. The whole saga surrounding Kylian Mbappe took another twisted turn after the Parisians omitted him from their pre-season tour.
Hence, they might look at players like Hojlund to replace the French superstar, but so far, Manchester United have the upper hand. The player also wishes to join the Red Devils over any other suitor, which may please Ten Hag in this quest.
