Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the Sturm Graz striker Emanuel Emegha this summer.
According to a report from the French publication L’Equipe, the 20-year-old Dutch striker is now expected to join the French club Strasbourg.
Apparently, the likes of AC Milan were keen on signing the talented young striker as well, but the French outfit have beaten the competition for his signature and they are set to pay around €12 million for the player. The striker will sign a five-year contract with the French outfit.
The 20-year-old had an impressive campaign with Sturm Graz last season, scoring 10 goals across all competitions and picking up five assists along the way.
It is no secret that Tottenham need to bring in attacking reinforcements and the 20-year-old could have been a quality, long-term addition for them.
Tottenham need someone to share the goalscoring button with Harry Kane and Emegha would have been a superb option.
Players like Richarlison and Son Heung-min were quite underwhelming last season and Tottenham need to add more depth to their attack.
The Dutch attacker has the potential to develop into a quality Premier League striker and Tottenham will be disappointed to have missed out on him.
It will be interesting to see if the North London giants decide to move for other attackers before the summer transfer window closes.
Meanwhile, Kane has been linked with a move away from the club this summer and the 29-year-old is in the final year of his contract with Tottenham.
If Spurs fail to agree on a new contract with him, they could be forced to sell him this summer as opposed to losing him on a free transfer next year.
Losing Kane would be a devastating blow for the North London club and they will have to replace him adequately.
Meanwhile, Emegha will look to continue his development with regular football at Strasbourg and the 20-year-old could find himself at a big club in the near future if he continues to impress in the coming seasons.
