Barcelona will soon sign 20-year-old Spanish full-back Trilli, Deportivo La Coruna Sporting Director Fernando Soriano has confirmed.

In an interview with SPORT, as relayed by 90min, Fernando Soriano, the Sporting Director at Deportivo La Coruna, has confirmed that Trilli will join Barcelona in the ongoing transfer window. He has also revealed that only final documentation remains for the deal to become official.

Fernando Soriano said, “We are writing all the documentation. His signing for Barça is imminent. In fact, he is already allowed not to train with us because of how advanced everything is.”

Alvaro Perez Campo, better known as Trilli, spent his formative years in his homeland. A native of Ortigueira, which falls in the province of A Coruna, he started his youth career at Racing de Ferrol before a short stint with SD San Tirso. But he has made most of his progress since joining Deportivo de La Coruna.

The prodigious 20-year-old full-back progressed through the ranks at Deportivo de La Coruna before making his first-team debut in August 2021. And the Spaniard has turned out 24 times thus far for the Blue and Whites, chipping in with two assists. Trilli’s progress has not gone unnoticed either, with Barcelona being among his prospective suitors.

The youngster has been on Barcelona’s radar for a long time. They have closely monitored his progress since his debut season with the Deportivo de La Coruna first team. And the player will bolster the Barcelona Atletic team when he joins the Catalan club in the ongoing transfer window.

But Trilli’s prospects with the Barcelona first team might be bright if the Catalan giants fail to sign another right-back. The reigning La Liga champions have shown interest in many players, including Ivan Fresneda. And signing a right-back remains one of the few remaining priorities for Barcelona in the ongoing transfer window.

As for Trilli, the prodigious 20-year-old Spanish full-back will join Barcelona Atletic in a few days. And after losing several prominent players like Victor Barbera and Ilias Akhomach, Rafael Marquez will be glad to have a highly-rated young prospect at his disposal in the upcoming season. It will be interesting to see how he comes along at the Catalan club in the 2023/24 campaign.
